Privacy and cookie information

Rewindmap is a personal project.

Using Rewindmap

When you visit Rewindmap, your browser requests the pages, map and related resources needed to provide the service. Some Rewindmap links can include place searches, video titles, or labels you enter. Avoid including personal details in place searches, video titles, or labels that you share.

Hosting and site security

Cloudflare helps deliver and protect this site. To do so, it processes connection and request information, including IP addresses and request metadata. This information may be recorded in Cloudflare logs.

Optional analytics

Only if you consent, Google Analytics may use measurement cookies to measure visits and interactions. We use these measurements to understand usage and improve Rewindmap.

MCP service usage

When you use the Rewindmap MCP API, the service processes your request and its arguments to provide a response. Separate usage counters in Cloudflare Analytics Engine record the request method, tool name when applicable, outcome, and request count; they do not include request arguments or prompts. Counts refer to API requests, not unique people.

Your analytics choice

The consent manager stores your analytics choice in a cookie named zaraz-consent.

Display preference

Rewindmap stores your selected light or dark theme in your browser's local storage under the key rewindmap-theme, so the site can remember your display choice.

Your choices and advertising

Analytics is optional. You can accept, reject or withdraw consent at any time in cookie settings. Rejecting or withdrawing consent does not restrict access to the map. Google Analytics advertising audiences are disabled for Rewindmap.

Your privacy rights

Where EU data protection law applies, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability, subject to applicable conditions. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. Contact privacy@rewindmap.com to make a request.

What analytics events contain

Analytics events never include the text you type into search or your exact map position. For searches we only send whether results were found and a rough result-count range; for map moves we only send the whole zoom level.

Data retention

Analytics data is kept according to the Google Analytics data retention setting, currently 2 months. Once the correction form is available, correction submissions will be kept for 12 months.

Who is responsible

The controller for this site is the operator of rewindmap.com. For privacy questions or requests, contact privacy@rewindmap.com.

Third-party advertising and cookies

We partner with third-party vendors, including Google, to serve advertisements on Rewindmap. Google uses cookies (such as the DoubleClick DART cookie) and web beacons to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites across the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or by visiting aboutads.info.
