# RewindMap

> Interactive historical world map. Pick any year from 3000 BC to today and see polity borders, battles, eruptions, earthquakes, armed conflict and more as they stood. Every feature carries its source ID and Wikidata QID where one exists.

Coverage: 1,644 polities (3,880 border snapshots, OpenHistoricalMap, CC0), 8,684 battles (Wikidata, CC0), 742 eruptions of VEI 4 or larger (Smithsonian Global Volcanism Program), 6,634 significant earthquakes (NOAA NCEI), 40,587 armed-conflict events (UCDP GED, CC BY 4.0), 1,097 witnessed meteorite falls (NASA/Meteoritical Society), 1,084 World Heritage sites. Years are astronomical (0 = 1 BC).
